Orlando Magic fans have a simple question every November: when do the Magic play in the NBA Cup, and where can I watch? The answer: four games — Friday, October 30 at Toronto (7:30 PM ET), Friday, November 13 vs Milwaukee (7:00 PM ET), Friday, November 20 at Brooklyn (7:30 PM ET), and Tuesday, November 24 vs Detroit (7:00 PM ET). All four stream on NBA League Pass, and none are on national TV.
Those four nights matter more than usual this year: a new head coach running his first Cup campaign, and a finale rematch with the Detroit team that ended last season.
Why November Matters More Than Usual in Orlando
Start with the track record. The Magic are 10–2 all-time in NBA Cup group play — 3–1 in 2023, 3–1 in 2024, and unbeaten in 2025 on the way to the semifinals in Las Vegas. Few teams take this tournament as seriously as Orlando, and it shows.
Then there’s the new voice. After Detroit erased a 3–1 first-round lead last spring, the Magic moved on from Jamahl Mosley and hired Sean Sweeney, San Antonio’s former defensive coordinator. His first Cup run doubles as an audition: can a defense-first coach squeeze even more out of a group that already defends?
And the schedule wrote its own drama. The Cup opens in Toronto against a fellow unbeaten-from-last-year group team, and it ends at Kia Center against the Pistons — the team that broke Orlando’s heart in May. Win both, and the Magic likely win East Group A.
The Four Games, Complete
Two at Kia Center, two on the road — see how every Cup team’s home and away games split. For the entire tournament schedule beyond Orlando, the full 2026 schedule page has every game.
Fri, Oct 30 — at Toronto Raptors, 7:30 PM ET · NBA League Pass · Scotiabank Arena. Opening night, on the road, against a team that also went unbeaten in group play last year — TSN noted both clubs finished 4–0 — with Leonard’s September arrival in Toronto adding another layer. The winner grabs the early tiebreaker edge in the group. See Toronto’s full Cup slate.
Fri, Nov 13 — vs Milwaukee Bucks, 7:00 PM ET · NBA League Pass (blacked out in Orlando) · Kia Center. The first Cup night at home should be the most manageable of the four: Milwaukee is rebuilding after the Giannis trade to Miami, with a new coach and a young core. Drop this one and the margin for error is gone; win big and the point-differential bank grows — it decides tiebreakers.
Fri, Nov 20 — at Brooklyn Nets, 7:30 PM ET · NBA League Pass · Barclays Center. The danger game, sitting between the comfortable home date and the Detroit finale. The Nets are young and rebuilding, which makes this exactly the kind of night good teams sleepwalk through. A slip here turns November 24 into a must-win.
Tue, Nov 24 — vs Detroit Pistons, 7:00 PM ET · NBA League Pass (blacked out in Orlando) · Kia Center. The heaviest night of group play. Detroit’s first trip back since last spring’s first-round collapse, the series that ended the Mosley era. The Pistons won 60 games and the East’s top seed a year ago; this one could decide the group outright.
Three Ways the Magic Reach December
Eight teams make the quarterfinals: the six group winners, plus one wild card per conference — the runner-up with the best group-play record. See the full draw across all six groups, and the complete rules and format.
Path 1: Win the group. The simple route — finish first in East Group A and you’re in. With Toronto and Detroit both strong, that likely means going at least 3–1, and the November 24 finale could be the decider.
Path 2: Grab the wild card. Finish second at 3–1 and Orlando would be scoreboard-watching the other East groups. The wild card goes to the best runner-up record, and ties skip head-to-head entirely — straight to point differential, then total points, then last season’s record, then a random draw (overtime points don’t count). That’s why November margins matter: a 20-point win over Milwaukee or Brooklyn could be worth more than it looks. Track the standings as the race unfolds.
Path 3: Going home. Lose twice and the math gets brutal — 2–2 leaves Orlando needing a wild-card miracle and help everywhere else.
The quarterfinals are December 4–5, the semifinals December 8, and the championship is Friday, December 11 at Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, hosting its first Cup final after three years in Las Vegas. The whole knockout bracket is set to stream on Prime Video, and the winners take home the tournament’s prize money.

Watching and Going: Pick Your Situation
Where you are decides how you watch.
If you’re in the Orlando area
League Pass blacks out Magic games in the local market, so you’ll need another route: the regional broadcast on WRDQ TV 27 (select games on WFTV Channel 9) or DAZN’s streaming option.
If you’re outside Orlando
Simple: NBA League Pass carries all four games with no blackout — and no national-TV conflicts, since the national windows on NBC, ESPN, and Prime Video all skip Orlando.
If you’re going to Kia Center
Two Cup nights: November 13 vs Milwaukee and November 24 vs Detroit. The Detroit game is the hot ticket — playoff rematch, possible group decider. Single-game tickets went on sale August 14 at 1 p.m. via OrlandoMagic.com/tickets, the Kia Center box office, Ticketmaster.com/Magic, or 407-89-MAGIC. The ticket guide has the full buying playbook. Buy early for the 24th; the Bucks night should be an easier get.
If you just want the radio
Every game airs on FM 96.9 The Game.
Orlando’s Cup Pedigree
Three editions, three winning group records, and a deeper run every time: 3–1 in the inaugural 2023 Cup, 3–1 and a wild-card quarterfinal in 2024 (lost to the eventual champion Bucks), then a perfect 4–0 in 2025 with a quarterfinal win over Miami — Bane’s 37-point night — before falling to the eventual champion Knicks in the Las Vegas semifinal. That’s 10–2 in group play all-time. (The league’s history pages don’t list the 2025 run, but it was widely reported, including by TSN and Sports Illustrated.)
